A man and his wife raise 4 boys. 3 of them are strapping young men, good-looking and very smart. The 4th is a scrawny wallflower, who never amounts to much.

The man asks his wife, "Our 3 older boys are so beautiful in every way, but the 4th just doesn't fit. Are you sure he's mine?

Wife: "Yes, honey. He is yours."

As life goes on, the 3 older boys go off to become a doctor, a lawyer, and an accountant. The 4th works at a gas station.

The man asks, "My wife, are you sure the 4th one is mine?"

Wife: "Yes dear, he is, without a doubt, your son."

The 3 older boys go off to marry beautiful women, have lovely homes, and fill them with children.

The 4th one lives in a trailer by the river, alone.

The man asks, "My darling, are you positive the 4th is my son? He's turned out nothing like the other 3."

The wife: "Yes, he is for sure your son."

The man, many years later, on his deathbed, asks his wife one last time, "Please, I am dying, but before I go, I need you to be honest with me. Is our 4th son really mine. I have to know the honest truth before I die."

The wife takes a deep breath and says, "You have always doubted the 4th was yours. You have asked me time and again if he is yours. Know that today, the day you will meet your maker, that he is 100%, absolutely your son."

The man smiles and quietly passes away.

The wife wipes her brow and says to herself, "Phew! I'm so glad he never asked about the other 3."
