A couple of fellers are having a dull day at work and one of them says "you know, I'm going to get the foreman to give me the rest of the day off."
So when he sees the foreman coming he goes and hangs himself by the heels from the rafters, and the foreman looks at him and says "What are you doing up there?"
"I'm a light bulb!" says the man, and the foreman says "Sure, and it sounds like you've been overworking -- you'd better go home."
And he gets down and the other man grabs his coat and the foreman says "And where do you think you're going?"
...And he says "You're not expecting me to work in the dark now, are you?"

The first guy is pretending to be so overworked he's going insane, thinking he's a light bulb. The foreman sends him home to get rest. But the second guy pretends that the first guy being sent home deprived him of light, as if he was living in the first man's pretend insane world.
