An elderly man was lying on his deathbed with his wife, their three children, and a nurse gathered around him.
With his last bit of strength, he slowly opened his eyes.
"Bill..." he whispered. "I want you to have the houses in Beverly Hills."
Bill nodded, trying to hold back tears.
"Mary... the office buildings downtown are yours."
Mary squeezed his hand.
"And Debra... I want you to take the apartment buildings near the L.A. Plaza."
Debra quietly thanked him.
Finally, he looked at his wife.
"My love... you can have all the residential neighborhoods around downtown."
The nurse stood there in amazement.
After a long silence, she smiled and said,
"Your husband must have been incredibly successful. I had no idea he owned so much real estate."
The widow looked at her, rolled her eyes, and said,
"Real estate? He didn't own any of it... the idiot had a paper route."
